Assistant Design Manager

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Design Manager to join our Wates team within our Planned Maintenance division. You will be covering Kilburn, Stevenage, Greenwich, and the London area. You will work collaboratively with our Design Managers/Senior Design Managers supporting the team to drive quality outcomes, enhance buildability and foster innovation.As our Assistant Design Manager, you will: Work with the Design Manager to produce and manage the design programme and Information Required Schedule. Provide guidance to the Project team on design related issues. Coordinate project team comments and resolve any design related queries with the design team. Assist in the production of the Proposals, ensuring they are complete and unambiguous. Review all design deliverables, including specialist supplier elements and interfaces to establish that they are within budget are fully coordinated and are buildable.We are looking for a designer with knowledge of building methods and technologies, procurement, and risk management. You will have a basic understanding of contracts, contract documentation, planning techniques, management systems, life cycle cost and value.

You will be covering the London Borough of Haringey, delivering support to our residents on our social housing contracts.Key Accountabilities will include: Set up, undertake and manage the Tenant/Customer/Resident Liaison Service across multiple sites. Attend regular client representative and tenant meetings to ensure highest level of customer service is provided at all times. Ensure a consistent approach to customer care is adopted, Manage the Tenant’s Complaints procedures as a point of escalation. Maintain and update the on-site Database to reflect on-going works.You must have a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.You will be an experienced RLO with proven track record of successfully managing the workload across planned maintenance programmes. As well as having a strong knowledge of internal and external programmes, you will be a strong communicator with excellent customer service and IT skills.

Document Controller

Here at Wates we have an opportunity for a Document Controller to join our Property Services team within our Planned Maintenance division. Working alongside an established team in the Wolverhampton office we are excited to offer hybrid working for this role. Key Accountabilities will include: Maintain, issue and distribute controlled copies of information ensuring compliance with all aspects of the design management procedures. Liaise with designers and specialist suppliers on queries regarding issues of information. Provide training to participants, designers and specialist suppliers on the project on how to use the drawing management system. Check information on drawings and troubleshoot any problems to do with the drawing management system and peripherals. Use document management and other management/collaboration tools as necessary to meet project requirements.We are looking for an experienced document controller with knowledge of contract documentation, environmental legislation and issues, risk management and life cycle cost; preferably gained within a similar environment however not essential.To be successful in this role you will have a keen eye for detail with exceptional organisational skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, along with a “can do” approach.

Assistant Site Manager (Section Manager)

We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager (Section Manager) to join Wates with our Wates Living Space Planned Maintenance team to oversee one of our contracts in South East London. You will be working on scattered works and liaising with residents.Key Accountabilities will include: Manage Operatives, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers to ensure quality control is maintained along with Health and safety at all times. Attend pre and post-inspection works and advise on appropriate action and job requirements resulting in the successful delivery and handover of schemes. Carry out Weekly Site Progress reports. Ensure that once works are completed, the full and completed job packs are sent to the Project Manager at the office along with completion details to guarantee a swift invoicing procedure to eliminate WIP (Work In Progress) & certify cash flow.You must have a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.To be successful in the role you will be an effective communicator with a positive and engaging approach to providing site leadership. You will have strong IT skills (including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with the ability to prioritise a wide range of tasks to set deadlines.
