We're safer together, our zero harm safety campaign

Providing the best working environment and safest practices in the sector.

We’re committed to ensuring the physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing of our people and stakeholders. It’s central to everything we do.

We’re proud of our industry-leading injury and accident record, as well as the steps we’ve taken to improve wellbeing in every sense, and to cultivate a healthy, happy workforce.

We’re Safer Together

Our drive towards a Zero Harm culture is underpinned by our ‘We’re Safer Together’ campaign – an award-winning engagement and learning programme, launched in 2016.

Since then our safety metrics have shown significant and major improvements with our accident frequency rate down 71%, and our lost time injury rate down 77% over the period.

Industry leading health and safety

‘Lead the Change!’ and ‘Drive the Change!’ are our leadership development and behavioural safety training courses. In conjunction with the ‘We’re Safer Together’ campaign they won ‘Health and Safety Solution of the Year’ at the 2019 London Construction Awards.

Our specialist engineering service, SES, has also received numerous awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for its safety-first approach.

Every mind matters. Mental health is as important as physical health

Every mind matters

Mental health in the workplace matters just as much as physical health. We have developed and implemented initiatives that promote positive wellbeing for staff, from providing excellent employee benefits to building on employee resilience.

Our trained Mental Health First Aiders listen and provide support to struggling colleagues dealing with issues such as depression, bereavement, financial difficulties, anxiety, stress, personal relationships, domestic abuse and suicidal thoughts.

We promote campaigns to improve everyone’s wellbeing and work-life balance, as well as raising awareness of mental health and suicide prevention, and reducing stress and fatigue.

Advice and guidance for colleagues

Our mobile app, Peppy provides colleagues with access to information and advice about a range of health issues, from men’s and women’s health, including menopause, to fertility and support for new and expectant parents.

Our mobile mental health support app, Everymind at Work, provides colleagues with a range of content to support them both physically and mentally.
