Leading affordable housing maintenance provider, Wates Living Space, has secured one of its largest ever planned maintenance programmes with the launch of a 20 year partnership with Clarion Housing Group.
Valued at approximately £15m per year, the partnership will include a variety of internal and external planned maintenance services for a portfolio of 19,000 properties across north London.
Work will include but will not be limited to kitchen and bathroom maintenance, boiler replacement, window installations, rewiring and roofing. Work is expected to start later this year.
The partnership represents one of the largest and longest planned maintenance programmes to be delivered by Wates Living Space and will see the business expand its existing maintenance portfolio of approximately 500,000 domestic properties across the UK.
Forming part of Clarion Housing Group’s planned investment and regeneration major works contract, the partnership will be subject to a break clause every five years.
David Morgan, Managing Director of Wates Living Space, commented:
“Adopting a partnership approach is a very effective means of delivering a high quality and seamless maintenance service and Clarion Housing Group are rightly setting the bar very high for the quality of delivery for its customers. With a portfolio of over half a million homes across the country, we are experts in undertaking these essential works and doing so with the greatest of care and attention to detail.
The duration of our partnership presents us with an invaluable opportunity to ensure that customers receive an unwavering continuity of service. We are keen to work with Clarion to keep this service under regular review to ensure that we maintain and build upon the high standards of service on which we pride our business.”
Peter Nourse, Director of Assets at Clarion Housing Group, said:
“Each year we invest significantly in maintaining and improving our existing homes. We are really pleased to announce the selection of three preferred bidders to carry out this vital work over a twenty-year period.
Longer term contracts provide security to both ourselves and our partners, to realise the benefits of collaboration and investment at scale. All three preferred bidders share Clarion’s commitment to quality and social value and our residents and their communities will be the beneficiaries.”
