Wates Group appoints Gareth Rhys Williams CB as Non-Executive Director
Wates Group has appointed Gareth Rhys Williams CB as a Non-Executive Director to its Board, further strengthening its strategic capability as the business continues to grow and deliver for customers across the UK.
Gareth brings extensive experience from both the private and public sectors. He is Chair of National Highways, overseeing the delivery of one of the UK’s largest infrastructure investment programmes and has previously held Chief Executive roles at a number of leading businesses, including PHS Group, Charter International, Capital Safety Group and Vitec Group.
He also served as the UK Government Chief Commercial Officer, where he led the transformation of public-sector commercial capability, driving improved performance, value and outcomes across major programmes.
Gareth will join the Wates Enterprise Board on 8 July 2026.
Gareth brings a breadth of knowledge across infrastructure, commercial strategy and organisational transformation, which will provide valuable insight for the Wates Group as we continue to deliver our long-term strategy and purpose of reimagining places for people to thrive.
