Works included the fit-out of six floors
Wates Smartspace was appointed to deliver the 120,000sq.ft. fit-out of Chiswell Street in London, creating a flexible, future-proof home for Lloyds Digital Banking.
As a key building in the London Master Plan, maximum occupancy was critical throughout the 42 week construction programme. As a result, the refurbishment sequence was designed to ensure the whole building remained operational 24/7, with no disruption to Lloyds or adjacent residential properties.
The building was the first to utilise Lloyds new Global Standards and was also customised to meet Lloyds Digital Bankings unique requirements. This included adopting brighter colours, increasing the number of areas for collaborative working and creating a more flexible working environment.
The design of each floor includes open plan space around the atrium for collaborative working of various forms. This includes team tables, movable screens, phone booth chairs, benching and soft seating. The overall proportion of collaborative space is approximately 45% of the seating on each floor. Each floor has different themed graphics which are applied to the space at key points and supported by the strong use of colour.
