If you’re ready to be part of a business that builds for the future, we’d love to hear from you.ABOUT THE ROLEAs our Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be diving into the heart of our projects, supporting our wider Commercial Team to keep everything on track— both in budget and quality. If you’re all about the details, love numbers, and are curious about how the built world works, this is the role for you.You will be responsible for Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents to ensure projects are financially viable. Subcontractor Management: Support the management of subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments, and negotiations. Cost Monitoring: Track project costs, identifying any financial risks or opportunities to keep projects on budget. Reporting: Contribute to the preparation and analysis of cost reports and forecasts, ensuring accurate financial tracking. Site Visits: Participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Final Accounts: Assist in preparing final accounts, including cost reconciliation and settlement of any contractual claims. Document Controller

We have an opportunity for a Document Controller to join our Wates team within our Planned Maintenance division. You will be working on social housing contracts supporting our Senior Design Manager.Key Accountabilities will include: Maintain, issue and distribute controlled copies of information ensuring compliance with all aspects of the design management procedures. Liaise with designers and specialist suppliers on queries regarding issues of information. Provide training to participants, designers and specialist suppliers on the project on how to use the drawing management system. Check information on drawings and troubleshoot any problems to do with the drawing management system and peripherals. Use document management and other management/collaboration tools as necessary to meet project requirements.We are looking for an experienced document controller with knowledge of contract documentation, environmental legislation and issues, risk management and life cycle cost; preferably gained within a similar environment.To be successful in this role you will have a keen eye for detail with exceptional organisational skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, along with a “can do” approach.Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage. Fleet Safety Manager

We have an opportunity for a Fleet Safety Manager to join our Wates team within our Responsive Maintenance division covering various contracts around London. The role will focus on fleet behaviours improve audit, review and action fleet KPIs, monitor van inspections, co-ordinate servicing, manage driver training and awareness and drive initiatives to address speeding.Key Accountabilities will include: Run Fleet Team operations on a day-to-day basis including dealing with queries and oversee the team. Prepare and deliver new Toolbox talks. Co-ordinate MOTs, servicing and maintenance. Promote and manage driver incentive schemes. Co-ordinate and support driver training. Conduct weekly checks and analysis of data from business systems. Support, develop and lead the implementation of a Fleet Strategy to address market drivers and business requirements to ensure best value for money. Be the primary contact for all employees, supporting them throughout the fleet lifecycle Effective supplier management to ensure vehicles are managed efficiently and effectively; utilising their expertise in supporting our strategy. Manage the review and update of Fleet Rules, policies and procedures Track and report fleet performance versus forecast and identify areas of continuous improvement in work practices.We are looking for an experienced Fleet Safety Manager who has a proven track record in cost savings and efficiencies, with excellent interpersonal skills to support and influence both internal and external customers.To be successful in this role you will have management experience and be a confident communicator at all levels with an exceptional attention to detail and problem analysis/solving skills to make a positive impact to the team and wider business. Wates have an opportunity for a Plasterer to join our Wates team within our Responsive Maintenance division. You will be working out of our Lambeth office on one of our social housing contracts, delivering reactive maintenance to our residents.Key Accountabilities will include: Undertaking repair/renewal works Advising Supervisor in a timely manner where other trades are required Working solely on certain tasks Working in partnership with other operatives to complete certain tasks Completing daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken Working in a timely and productive manner to complete programme tasksTo be successful in the role you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to problem solve, multi task, work to tight deadlines, have high standard of workmanship, productivity levels and ability to provide excellent customer service at all times is essential.Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage.
