A passion for delivery defines Living Space, whose business is as much about enhancing lives and opportunities as it is about building and improving homes. With a business model firmly based on partnership with customers and working through 75 frameworks, Living Space delivered some outstanding transformations of communities across the UK. In 2010 we built or refurbished 30,000 homes and helped to create more sustainable communities through improving skills and providing employment opportunities.
Living Space is also taking a lead in applying energy efficient technologies to the nation’s homes; it is working with a range of partners to identify the technologies, processes and funding models for refurbishing some of the UK’s 26 million existing homes to near-zero carbon standards.
Annual Result highlights for Wates Living Space include:
- £343m turnover in 2010 (a 30% increase on 2009)
- 30,000 homes built or refurbished
- 90% injury-free sites (100% by 2012)
- 93% non-hazardous waste diverted from landfill
