Gorse Ride is Wokingham Council’s flagship regeneration scheme which will see 249 new modern homes built on site, with 74% affordable, to meet the needs of the local population. Four of the homes will be designed to accommodate the needs of people with specific needs such as being wheelchair accessible with level access to shower facilities.
The new homes have been designed to be energy efficient with high levels of insulation and low carbon innovations such as air source heat pumps to help reduce emissions and make them more affordable to heat, tackling the fuel poverty crisis whilst helping to reduce the borough’s carbon footprint.
Alongside the fantastic new homes, we will be bringing additional benefits to the local community through our social value programme which has been actively engaging with local schools, supporting local charities, running activities such as a summer barbeque for and wellbeing walks for local residents, and welcoming students from local colleges and candidates from job centres to site to learn more about the world of construction.
