Andrew (Andy) Wates joined the Group in 1995 and was appointed to the Board in 2011.
A member of the Audit Committee and Nominations Committee, he is also Chairman of the Wates Family Enterprise Trust. In 2023 he became Chairman of the Wates Family Council and the Family Shareholder Forum. Externally Andy is active within the Family Business UK organisation and is a director with social enterprise No Going Back Cleaning and Support Services CIC. Andy serves on the Court of Assistants (governing body) for The Clothworkers’ Company, and in 2024 became a trustee of the Unicorn Theatre.
