

Mark Bridges is a Construction Director for Smartspace Board.
Mark Bridges brings over two decades of hands-on construction expertise and operational leadership to the Smartspace Board in his role as Construction Director. Since joining Wates Group in 2005 as a Project Manager, Mark has progressed through every level of the operations function, from contracts and operations management roles through to Operations Director, before stepping into his current strategic post. His career began as an apprentice carpenter and joiner, later moving into national shopfitting and interiors with Styles & Wood and Dean & Bowes, where he advanced to Site Manager.
Mark’s journey through the industry, starting on the tools and rising through the business, gives him a rare depth of understanding about site challenges, problem solving, and the realities of project delivery. He has worked on and led some of Smartspace’s largest and most complex schemes across shopfitting, internal refurbishments, and Cat A and B fit outs.
Today, Mark is responsible for operations, health and safety, environment, quality, and technical services, driving strategic leadership across the business. He is particularly proud of launching the Smartspace delivery strategy and helping steer the business into larger, more complex project sectors.
