Joe, 48, who joins the Wates Group Board from 3 July 2017, is Chief Executive of Cape plc, the global, FTSE-listed company specialising in the provision of critical industrial services to the energy and natural resources sectors.

Joe has been Chief Executive at Cape for five years, and was previously Chief Executive of Hamworthy plc, a global oil and gas engineering business, which he joined in 2007 and led until its takeover by Wärtsilä in 2012. Prior to this, Joe spent most of his career in the engineering sector in a broad range of roles including Managing Director, strategy development and acquisitions.

We are delighted to welcome Joe to the Board of Wates. His extensive experience in senior management, combined with his engineering prowess will complement our collective skills and expertise and help us to meet our strategic objectives as a growing business.
