Our Residential business celebrates its first NHBC Pride in the Job Award in Wales

Now in its 45th year, the Pride in the Job Awards set the standard for excellence in housebuilding. Around 400 site managers are recognised each year from a pool of over 8,000 projects, which places John and the Maple Fields team in the top 5% across the UK.
This achievement is a testament to the team’s dedication to delivering high-quality homes with care and attention at every stage. From hitting delivery milestones to maintaining consistently high standards on site, it’s been a real team effort, supported by trusted subcontractors, supply chain partners and colleagues across Cardiff.
Their hard work has shaped every part of Maple Fields – a development that’s bringing new life to the former site of Llanrumney High School, with 98 energy-efficient homes, including 28 for council tenants and 70 for open market sale. It’s part of Cardiff Living, our long-term partnership with Cardiff Council to deliver 1,700 homes across the city.
John Coburn was just one of 19 site managers selected for Wales this year. He will now go forward to the next stage of the competition for a Seal of Excellence and a Regional Award, with the ceremony taking place on 5 September. Plus, he has the chance to progress to the national finals in early 2026.
A huge well done to John and the whole Maple Fields team. This marks a brilliant achievement and a proud milestone for our Residential team in Wales.
