Our Construction South business supports Woburn Lower School during Wates Community Month

The team, led by Pre-Construction Director Scott Machin, spent the day revitalising key outdoor areas of the school, contributing time, skills, and enthusiasm to support the local community.
The team took on a variety of tasks, including painting benches and sheds in the school’s distinctive Woburn School Blue, as well as tidying and restoring the school’s allotment area — ensuring it’s ready for use by the students and staff. Their efforts have brought a fresh burst of colour and functionality to the outdoor learning and play environment.
Woburn Lower School, which has been a cornerstone of the community for over 400 years, was delighted to welcome our team. The transformation of the space is expected to make a lasting difference to the school’s pupils and their day-to-day experience.
The event was coordinated by Leanne Walton, Social Value Manager at Wates, whose dedication ensured the day ran smoothly and successfully.
We have long prioritised community engagement and social value as part of our core ethos. Through initiatives like Community Month, the company empowers its employees to make a direct, positive contribution to the communities in which they live and work. These activities form part of our broader commitment to leaving a lasting legacy.
