Cardiff Council and its partners, Wates have started construction on the largest development in the Cardiff Living scheme, that will deliver 214 new properties on the former site of Eastern high school off Newport Road.

Work has started on a number of new sites in the Cardiff Council’s ambitious housing development partnership with Wates Residential, Cardiff Living.

Wates has been formally appointed to deliver the next two phases of its 10 year ‘Cardiff Living’ partnership with Cardiff Council. The partners will help tackle growing housing demand across the city by delivering 1,500 new homes across by 2027.

An innovative pilot scheme which will see the first modular homes built in Cardiff Councils flagship housebuilding programme has been given the go-ahead.

Wates has secured a place on the North Wales Construction Partnerships £500m framework, facilitating the build of new schools and public sector projects.

Wates Living Space has been appointed to carry out repairs and minor planned works for Cardiff Council, which will see the leading social housing maintenance provider deliver housing improvements to 4,200 properties across the north of the city.
