MEP Manager

As an MEP Manager, you will support the operations team by ensuring first-class sustainable M&E performance, while complying with Wates Group’s Operating Framework and corporate policies. Your focus will be on leadership, value creation, and delivering best-in-class building services.As our MEP Manager, you will: Manage the engineering workforce delivering hard M&E services, compliance, and Operating Framework (OF) delivery. Support the planning and delivery of extra works and M&E/fabric-related projects. Monitor the M&E programme alignment with the Wates Residential construction schedule. Organise and lead M&E progress meetings; liaise with operational site teams and external stakeholders. Lead mobilisation of new buildings across a dynamic property portfolio, including due diligence, risk assessments, and dilapidation surveys. Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently applied across the region. We are looking for an experienced and driven professional with proven experience managing MEP projects valued at £15m or more. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate technical teams. Expertise in building services compliance and health & safety regulations. This role will give you the experience of working on a busy construction site as well as studying on a day release basis to achieve a level 3 apprenticeship qualification. Capturing the knowledge and experience of various disciplines within the building services industry to learn and understand the role as a planner, your daily tasks will include, but not limited to communicating with colleagues and producing & updating project schedules, collating progress of mechanical & electrical systems, site visits to gain understanding of systems and assisting the planning team with daily planning tasks.Your Responsibilities As an Apprentice Planner you will support the planning team with planning tasks and support other disciplines such as design & operations.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below Contribute to the development of fully integrated programmes for all project phases, including pre-commencement, design, procurement, IRS, installation, commissioning, handover, and seasonal activities. Work closely with project teams to help prepare and share progress reports, progress percentages, and programmes, ensuring alignment with SES best practice, company procedures, and project requirements for effective management and commercial protection. Support the planner in establishing and monitoring a balanced set of performance measurement criteria throughout the project lifecycle, including key performance indicators, milestone management, and trend analysis. Assist in integrating design and procurement elements with construction activities to promote seamless project delivery. Collaborate with the planner and bid team to help produce integrated tender programmes and method statements for settlement meetings. Ensure all work meets relevant business standards and best practices. Foster a collaborative working environment with team members and external partners, valuing diverse perspectives and contributions. Regional Commercial Director

SES Engineering Services are currently seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Regional Commercial Director to join our team in the Southern Region. This is a key strategic role, reporting directly to the SES Commercial Director, where you will play a central part in shaping regional performance and driving commercial excellence across our projects.. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the SES Business Unit Commercial Director, you will provide strategic support to the Regional Business Managing Director/Operations Directors on all matters. Lead the commercial teams on all matters relating to subcontract tender procurement, strategy, risk management, pre and post contract, margin improvement and people development. As our M&E Regional Commercial Director, some of your key responsibilities will include: Undertake a detailed inspection of all pre-contract documentation and contract/sub-contract documents as well as to negotiate with customers/contractors to ensure equitable and acceptable contract agreements. Responsible for surveying training in the Region, including taking overall responsibility for the Student Surveyors; ensuring they receive comprehensive training and support. Provide a detailed overview on all in-progress contracts and final accounts and report any anticipated difficulties to the Commercial Director. Responsible for compliance with the Risk Management procedures within the Region. Check on work-in-progress on all divisional contracts and assist cash collection, and maintenance of a positive cash position on all projects. To visit sites on a regular basis and liaise with opposite numbers in the industry. We are looking for someone who can lead a commercial function within the region, maintaining strong relationships with the Construction Commercial function and being recognised as a respected Commercial expert. The ideal candidate will possess excellent commercial acumen, strong financial skills, and a logical approach to decision-making and problem-solving. They will be committed to accurate and timely financial reporting, developing, and nurturing the commercial team, and treating colleagues with respect. Additionally, they should be adept at managing subcontractor expectations fairly and effectively, promoting the SES H&S ethos, and utilising good negotiation skills to influence both the supply chain and colleagues for the most beneficial outcomes.
