Leading social housing maintenance provider, Wates Living Space, has expanded its Greater London maintenance portfolio with a dual appointment to deliver repairs and refurbishment contracts across 9,449 properties for Southern Housing Group and The Guinness Partnership.
Cumulatively valued at £13m, the new contracts will see Wates grow its presence across the capital, while expanding its service offering to meet clients’ demands.
Spanning a period of five years with an option to extend, the contract for Southern Housing Group is valued at circa £2m per annum and will see Wates carry out responsive repairs and void refurbishment across 3,759 properties in Greater London.
Valued at approximately £2.5m, the contract for The Guinness Partnership will be delivered over 15 months and will include responsive repairs and void maintenance services for 7,000 customers across 5,690 properties in Greater London.
Wates currently delivers maintenance works across 3,777 homes for The Guinness Partnership in the West of England and was awarded the southern contract following the company’s successful delivery of its services in the region, which saw satisfaction levels reach 91 per cent last month.
The Wates team is now fully mobilised to carry out maintenance for both Southern Housing Group and The Guinness Partnership contracts, which will comprise plumbing and drainage as well as minor improvements, including housing refurbishments, electrical installations and external renovation works.
To ensure the business’ presence brings a local boost to training and employment, Wates has additionally pledged to undertake a series of community initiatives for residents in Greater London. This will include the business’ industry leading Building Futures programme, an intensive training programme that gives jobseekers the opportunity to experience a variety of hands-on trades, as well as a series of paid internships.
