Signature Pembroke House, Camberley

Project overview

Wates Construction has completed five-storey office building demolition with subsequent construction of a new five-storey care home.

92 private apartments that vary from studios to one-bedroom suites with an additional 20 designed to support individuals requiring specialist dementia care.

Signature Pembroke House, Camberley

The home offers Signature’s exceptional residential and nursing care, and outstanding facilities and services, all within a comfortable, friendly and home-like environment. The home also includes its very own cinema room, hair salon, therapy room, activity room, bistro restaurant with private dining facilities, cosy lounges and quiet rooms along with a library room.

Externally, the building has underground parking, and garden terraces to the 4th Floor and a porte cochere providing outdoor space for residents to enjoy.

  • The new building design completely filled the footprint of the site. A logistically challenging, tight, constrained site.
  • During the demolition, the site team worked hard with a specialist contractor in developing a dewatering scheme to mitigate a high-risk area of concern. The existing basement had to be removed to form a new car park. Wates temporary works were involved to produce a temporary support system incorporating CFA piles to retain the existing adjacent highway and footpath. The dewatering system worked well and enabled the progress to be retained in the ground during the winter months.
  • Satisfactory early handover of the Marketing Suite achieved as required by customer.
  • “Nudura” system as a structural solution also used on this project.
