Cost Planner

Wates Group are looking for a Cost Planner in our London region to provide robust, accurate cost planning and early-stage estimating across a diverse pipeline of work. You’ll play a key role in shaping bids and pre‑construction strategy, ensuring cost certainty from concept through to tender and beyond.Working closely with bid teams, pre‑construction colleagues, development team, consultants and clients, you’ll deliver high‑quality cost advice on complex and high‑value schemes (including projects in excess of £100m), helping to ensure commercial success and profitable delivery.As a Cost Planner, you will: Produce accurate and detailed cost plans across all relevant RIBA stages and OGC gateways Confident in producing NRM full elemental and detail cost plan. Produce early stage budget cost to facilitate development appraisal model Drive design development during stage 0-3 with a focus on cost efficiency Engaging with supply chain partners for specialist pricing advice, rate validation and market intel. Can interact with a variety of trades and functions and learn the technical complexities of each.As our Assistant Project Engineer you will: Keep and maintain records on all engineering aspects of the project inclusive of Daily Diary, Inspection Records, As Built Drawings, etc. Implement QA, inspections & test plans for areas of work identified by Engineer and record on relevant Field tool. Cross check design, specification and details relevant to area of work Report defective works and issue notices inclusive of the monitoring of remedial actions as advised by Engineer using Field tool and track/close out. Assist Engineer to provide and maintain dimensional control for the project from primary survey stations. This includes grid lines, offsets and datum’s, temporary setting out stations for controlling the setting out of works inclusive of recording such data. Asist project team in delivery of Health, Safety and environmental, report and take action to correct any observed risks to health, safety and environment whilst on site.
