The strategically important acquisition is aligned with Wates Land & Development’s growth ambitions and regional expansion strategy.

Our Wates Land & Development division has today announced the acquisition of Manor Oak Homes, the successful Midlands-based land promoter with a strong reputation, high-quality portfolio and an experienced, well-regarded team – led by Will Main.

The acquisition brings 52 high-quality and maturing sites into our land portfolio, making it one of the UK’s largest land promoters and enabling the creation of a strong Midlands-focused regional operation within the business. This is an important step in the continued evolution of our Wates Land & Development division, reflecting its long-term commitment to sustainable growth.

A strong strategic and cultural fit, Manor Oak is – like Wates – a family-owned company with a long-term perspective, a strong sense of responsibility and a culture grounded in relationships, integrity and delivery. With a shared focus on land, planning and delivery excellence and the cultural synergy of bringing together two long-term, family-owned businesses, our Wates Land & Development division looks forward to building on this acquisition in partnership with the Manor Oak team, supporting continued growth across the region.

The Midlands-focused business will operate as Wates Manor Oak, with the existing leadership team remaining in place to ensure continuity and to build on the strong relationships already established across the region.

The acquisition of Manor Oak marks a significant step forward for Wates Land & Development, further strengthening our position as one of the UK’s leading land promoters. Bringing its portfolio of high-quality Midlands-based sites and its well-regarded and experienced team into our business adds critical breadth and depth and gives us immediate and credible delivery capability in a region of huge opportunity.

“This growth is not just about scale but is reflective of our long-term commitment to delivering sustainable development that creates lasting value. Guided by our purpose of reimagining places where people can thrive, we are focused on shaping high-quality, inclusive communities that support people, places and planet, now and for generations to come.”

David Brocklebank

Executive Managing Director, Wates Land & Development

“This is a natural fit for both businesses, bringing together two family-owned organisations that share a long-term outlook and a genuine passion for land and development.

“There is a strong cultural alignment, making this an excellent opportunity for the Manor Oak team as well as for our landowners and partners, who will benefit from the strength and expertise that comes from being part of a larger organisation.

“We’re excited about the growth potential this creates for us to combine our knowledge and relationships to unlock new opportunities and deliver high-quality, sustainable developments for the future.”
