The Opportunity
Liberty Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to take the lead on risk, opportunity, and commercial performance across a diverse portfolio of social housing, construction, and decarbonisation projects.
This is a high‑impact, senior role offering autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to shape commercial outcomes across long‑term maintenance contracts and exciting one‑off construction schemes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Driving commercial entitlement through robust contract management
- Leading risk & opportunity management across live contracts
- Supporting and guiding commercial and QS teams
- Managing change, performance, and dispute avoidance
- Acting as a client-facing commercial lead, negotiating best outcomes
- Deputising for the Commercial Director – Operations when required
Projects span repairs & maintenance, heating & compliance, gas, EICR, and decarbonisation/renewables.
Location & Working Pattern
- 🏠 Hybrid – typically 2 days per week, occasionally 3
- 📍 Travel across the South, Key locations include Oxfordshire, Kent, Cambridge & Swindon
- 🧭 Southern Home Counties focus
- ⏱️ Manage your own time
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Strong background in social housing, property services or construction
- Sound knowledge of NEC, JCT, NHF or similar contracts
- Confident communicator, negotiator, and commercial leader
RICS and renewables experience are desirable but not essential.
