Converting dormant floors into COVID-19 wards.

Completed in just 5 weeks, the eight-year dormant 14th/15th floors have been converted into Covid-19 wards, leaving a lasting legacy for the hospital.

With ever changing requirements due to the unknown nature of the pandemic, 12 beds were converted to include renal dialysis to treat patients a few days before completion.

The new requirements were designed, manufactured offsite, commissioned and finished in 36 hours, in time for the promised handover date.

Works were completed far ahead of the incredibly ambitious schedule with patients being treated on the wards 13 days ahead of the project’s agreed completion date.
