Matthew Hurrell is a member of the Wates Fit Out leadership team, bringing over 19 years of specialist expertise in office fit-out and refurbishment.

His career has been defined by driving business growth through the delivery of high-quality commercial environments across London and international markets, with a strong emphasis on strategic project positioning, client engagement, and intelligent, value-driven solutions.

As Strategic Director, Matt plays a pivotal role in shaping business strategy and aligning complex client aspirations with bespoke delivery approaches. Since joining Wates Fit Out in 2024, he has continued to build on a distinguished career in Tier One fit-out contracting, where he held senior operating board positions across the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His leadership has spanned preconstruction strategy, global account management, and the successful pursuit of fit-out and data centre projects for international clients.

Matt began his career in construction management, delivering prestigious residential and commercial refurbishments for high-net-worth clients and estates in central London. This foundation evolved into senior roles across heading design management teams, major project procurement, preconstruction, and work winning. His technical acumen, strategic insight, and client-centric approach have earned him the trust and respect of clients and colleagues alike.

He remains deeply committed to enhancing customer experience, championing collaboration, and embedding quality and risk management to support the best project outcomes.
