Nicola Willbye

Business Development (Cambridge), Wates Construction

Nicola is responsible for Business Development within our Northern Home Counties region, predominantly based in the East, covering Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties.

With nearly 10 years of experience in the construction industry, Nicola has worked within the Cambridgeshire market and surrounding areas from both the contractor and consultant perspective. Nicola started her career in a Marketing role with R G Carter in Cambridge, where she began to grow her knowledge of the construction industry and become familiar with the main players within the region. This then led her into a Business Development role with Curtins Consulting covering the East of England and later stretching into London, broadening her network and natural social skills alongside Bid Writing and discovering a passion for networking and bringing her competitive nature to light.

Joining as Business Development Manager at Wates in 2021, Nicola’s local expertise has played a critical part in helping Wates grow its presence across the East of England, more specifically the Cambridge area. With a growing list of key customer and consultant relationships, her current role covers a wide range of sectors covering both public and private. Nicola’s skillset lies in creating and building strong, long-term relationships with our local network to build trustworthy connections between businesses across both upcoming and current projects.
