Wales’ first Zero Bills homes now for sale in Cardiff

We’ve teamed up with Octopus Energy to bring Wales its first-ever Zero Bills homes. These four homes at Willowbrook North are now on the market, offering buyers a decade of zero energy bills through Octopus’ innovative Zero Bills smart tariff.
Each home is fitted with solar panels, a heat pump and a home battery – all working together to generate and store clean energy. It’s a simple idea with a big impact: no energy bills for 10 years, guaranteed*.
This is part of Cardiff Living – our long-standing partnership with Cardiff Council – which is delivering high-quality, energy-efficient homes across the city.
Together, we’re fighting fuel poverty and helping residents live more sustainably.
The launch comes as the Welsh Government opens a consultation on making solar panels and low-carbon heating systems standard in all new homes. It’s a clear signal that the future of housing in Wales is green, affordable and built to last.
Octopus Energy plans to deliver 100,000 Zero Bills homes by 2030. The initiative has already launched in Germany, New Zealand and across the UK, with more than 1,200 homes accredited so far – spanning affordable rent, private sale and shared ownership.
