Our Residential business has reached an exciting step in the regeneration of Waterloo and Queen Street in Romford. Blocks 9 and 10 are now submitted for planning, following a successful public consultation held on 29 July.

Together with Havering Council, we’ve submitted a Section 73 and Reserved Matters application. These proposals are part of our joint venture to transform 12 estates across the borough, creating places where people can thrive.

Blocks 9 and 10 will deliver more than 107 affordable homes, a brand new community space and welcoming landscaped areas. The designs reflect what residents told us matters most – including building height, balconies, green space and overall look and feel.

Feedback from the consultation was positive. Residents appreciated our open approach and how we’ve responded to local concerns. These updated plans show what’s possible when we work together to shape communities that feel like home.

The positive feedback from the community reflects the strength of our partnership with Wates and our shared dedication to listening to residents and building spaces that truly meet local needs.

“The first two blocks at Waterloo and Queen Street will provide much-needed housing for local people, a legacy we can all be proud of.”

Councillor Ray Morgon

Leader of Havering Council

Reaching planning submission for Blocks 9 and 10 is a testament to the strength of our seven year partnership with Havering Council.

“Together, we’ve worked closely with residents to shape proposals that reflect local priorities and deliver high-quality homes and public spaces.

“This milestone brings us one step closer to realising a shared vision for Waterloo and Queen Street and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made through collaboration and community engagement.”
