Across our SSH programme, the integrated Wates team is working together as one, creating space to reflect, share lessons learnt, and apply insight in real time.

By collaborating openly across disciplines and projects, we’re strengthening consistency, improving quality, and continuously raising the standards of delivery for our customer.

We are actively bringing forward lessons from our work at HMP Onley and HMP Gartree, using these insights to shape and enhance delivery at HMP Erlestoke. This collective learning mindset is helping us anticipate challenges earlier, innovate faster, and deliver more confidently.

At the heart of this is our shared purpose: to create safer, better environments that enable people and communities to thrive. Partnering closely with the Ministry of Justice, we’re turning shared learning into meaningful outcomes, raising the bar not just for individual projects, but for the future of the custodial estate.

Bringing our teams together earlier this month reminded me of the strength that comes from open discussion and shared learning. When we listen to each other and share honestly, we raise the standard of what’s possible across the programme and ultimately deliver better outcomes for our customer.”
