Wates Construction, the contractor set to build the new Liverpool Cruise Terminal Hotel, has commenced a major recruitment drive across the North West to support its pipeline of public and private sector projects across the region.
The contractor, which was appointed to the North West Construction Hub for the third consecutive time in January this year, is recruiting for a number of site-based positions including site and project management, and quantity surveying roles.
The announcement of Wates’ intentions to grow its North West team comes as the business looks to increase its high rise residential project portfolio across the North West in addition to expanding its presence in its core markets of commercial, leisure, education and blue light.
Wates’ project portfolio in the region also currently includes Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service’s new Saughall Massie Fire Station, two new schools on behalf of Star Academies in Blackburn and Manchester and the redevelopment of Stockport College’s Wellington Road campus.
Paul Dodsworth, Managing Director of Wates Construction North, commented: “We have an ambitious growth strategy, which will see us significantly expand the reach of our work across the region and as our project portfolio increases, so too will the talent and skills we have in our team.
“The buoyancy of the North West industry is evidence of the market confidence that exists in this great region, but this market confidence requires capable, skilled and stable contractors and Wates has a prominent place is fulfilling this need. The breadth of our in-house expertise continues to offer our clients best value time and time again and we look forward to building on the experience and resource within our team as our business grows throughout the year.”
