A fantastic, award-winning night celebrating life sciences excellence
Leading this success was the University of Oxford Life and Mind Building (LaMB), which received four major awards:
Delivered in partnership with Legal & General, the University of Oxford and NBBJ Design, LaMB brings together more than 2,400 students, academics and researchers in a highly flexible, future-focused environment. Designed to support collaboration across disciplines, the building provides a platform for tackling some of today’s most pressing global challenges, including climate change, mental health and biodiversity.

We also celebrated the success of Victoria House, which was awarded Best Retrofit and Reuse Building – Lab & Specialist Facility. The project demonstrates how existing buildings can be carefully reimagined to deliver high-quality laboratory and specialist spaces, while reducing environmental impact and supporting a more sustainable approach to development.

Oxford University’s Life and Mind Building, completed by Wates Construction and SES in 2025, is a centre of world-class research and scientific endeavour that aims to benefit all our lives.

The completed space has been designed to house an ecosystem of occupiers ranging from start-ups in designated incubator spaces, to larger pharmaceutical companies.
