Velox Rapid Edge

Foundation-Free Planters. Lower Carbon. Faster Installation

Get in touch

Velox Rapid Edge is a patented planter edge system that replaces traditional concrete foundations and mechanical fixings with an innovative self-weighted design

Instead of relying on extensive concrete substructures, anchor bolts and waterproofing penetrations, the system uses the weight of the planter soil itself to create stability. This foundation-free approach was specifically developed to address the cost, programme and sustainability challenges commonly associated with rooftop and podium landscape projects. By removing the need for concrete foundations, Velox Rapid Edge provides a simpler and more efficient method of delivering landscape installations while maintaining the design flexibility expected from traditional planter systems.

By eliminating concrete foundations from planter installations, Velox Rapid Edge significantly reduces the embodied carbon associated with traditional landscape construction

Concrete is one of the most carbon-intensive materials used within the built environment. Removing it from the planter build-up process not only lowers CO₂ emissions but also reduces the volume of materials that need to be transported to site, supporting more sustainable project delivery.

The system also protects rooftop waterproofing by removing the need to drill through roof build-ups or install mechanical fixings. This reduces long-term risks associated with waterproofing damage, maintenance requirements and potential liabilities.

For contractors and developers, Velox Rapid Edge helps accelerate installation programmes by eliminating foundation construction, curing periods and associated coordination between multiple trades. This can reduce project complexity, improve productivity and minimise programme delays.

In simple terms, Velox Rapid Edge delivers the same architectural flexibility as traditional planter systems while removing one of the most carbon-intensive and time-consuming elements of landscape construction. It offers a more sustainable, efficient and commercially attractive solution for rooftop and podium developments.
