Wates Construction to help bring Universal United Kingdom Resort to life
The Wates Construction South Region is proud to be confirmed as a delivery partner for the delivery of Universal United Kingdom Resort in Bedfordshire, one of the most significant tourism and regeneration developments ever undertaken in the UK.
Universal United Kingdom Resort will be the first Universal-branded theme park and resort destination in the UK and Europe, with enabling works currently underway.
Universal estimates the development will generate almost £50 billion of economic benefit for the UK, support 20,000 jobs during construction and create a further 8,000 direct jobs once operational. The resort is expected to open in 2031.
As the project progresses, opportunities for regional and UK businesses are expected to continue to expand, helping to create lasting social and economic value for local communities.
