Our Residential business and Havering Council secure planning approval to deliver two 100% affordable housing schemes in Romford

The development, which is being delivered via a joint venture between our Wates Residential team and Havering Council, received approval for the Section 73 and Reserved Matters application. This follows a number of successful public consultations, which helped shape the final proposals and gather community support.

The Waterloo and Queen Street development forms part of the 12 estates targeted for regeneration by the Havering Council and our Wates Residential Joint Venture. Under the first phase, the two blocks will deliver more than 107 high-quality, affordable homes, a new Community Space for local residents and landscaped public spaces that enhance the wider area.
Community feedback played a key role in the evolution of the scheme, with residents welcoming the partnership’s responsiveness to discussions around building height, balconies, landscaping and overall design.
