Managing Director, Wates Construction

Steve Holbrook has been Managing Director of Wates Construction’s London business since 2024. He leads the regional strategy and delivery of major construction projects, with a focus on operational excellence, commercial performance, and sustainable outcomes.

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with a BSc (Hons) in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying, Steve brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role. Prior to joining Wates, he spent 28 years at Skanska Construction, where he held senior leadership positions and was instrumental in delivering some of London’s most complex and high-profile developments. His project portfolio includes landmark schemes such as The Scalpel, 80 Fenchurch Street, 60 London Wall, 20 Ropemaker Street, and K1 Knightsbridge.

Steve is passionate about delivering high-quality products, efficiently and sustainably, with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction and long-term value.
