Wates Group have a new opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our flexible-working finance team based in Leatherhead, working with our Residential Business.

Wates Residential is a developer contractor specialising in affordable housing solutions. With a commitment to quality and sustainability, we collaborate with Local Authorities, Registered Providers, and public bodies to create thriving communities.

This role is responsible for the business partnering with the regional commercial teams. Working closely with the Regional Commercial Directors and Regional Managing Directors to report, manage and forecast the management accounts.

We are looking for a motivated qualified Finance Manager (CIMA, ACCA, CA), with experience in the real estate sector an advantage. You will be a good communicator, with a drive to seek out improvements across the business unit.

This is an exciting role within a growing environment. Strong excel, analytical and communication skills are essential. To be successful we require you to be proactive, have a self-motivating mind-set and desire for continuous improvement across the finance function.

As our Finance Manager you will:

  • Work with the regional commercial teams on financial planning and analysis across both contracting and development portfolios.
  • Input and review regional monthly management accounts from underlying operational and commercial information.
  • Review and analyse monthly financial reporting dashboards for presentation at Regional Board Meetings.
  • Detailed analysis and communication of reported numbers, identifying and escalating potential issues.
  • Preparation of additional quarterly finance schedules, providing reasoned challenge to the regional turnover and profit forecasts.
  • Work in partnership with operational and commercial teams, providing ad-hoc financial support and analysis as required.
