The Vacancy
Wates Property Services (WPS) is looking for an experienced Roofer to join our Responsive Maintenance team, working on a social housing contract in the Barnsley area.
You’ll be carrying out day‑to‑day roofing repairs and maintenance across occupied social housing properties, delivering a high‑quality service while maintaining excellent standards of safety and customer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive roofing repairs and maintenance across social housing properties
- Undertake roof inspections, fault diagnosis and remedial works
- Work in line with Health & Safety, safeguarding and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with schedulers, supervisors and residents
- Complete job records and materials used via a handheld/PDA system
- Work collaboratively with other trades when required
- Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service in occupied homes
About You
- Proven experience as a Roofer, ideally within social housing or responsive maintenance
- NVQ Level 2 in Roofing (or equivalent) – essential
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Experience working in occupied properties
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Reliable, professional and customer focused
