The Vacancy

WPS have an opportunity for a Document Controller to join our Planned Maintenance team, supporting the delivery of social housing planned works projects across the West Midlands.

Based in the office, you will play a key role in managing and controlling project documentation across multiple live contracts, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and accessible to project teams.

This role would suit an experienced Document Controller or Administrator with strong organisational skills and experience working within construction, maintenance or social housing environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, control and maintain project documentation across multiple planned works contracts
  • Ensure all documentation is correctly stored, issued and updated in line with company procedures
  • Distribute controlled documents to internal teams, clients and supply chain partners
  • Maintain accurate document registers and filing systems
  • Support project and site teams with document queries and information requests
  • Ensure compliance with document control processes and audit requirements
  • Assist with reporting and tracking of project documentation status
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and commercial teams


About You

  • Previous experience in a Document Controller or project administration role
  • Experience working across multiple contracts or projects
  • Background within construction, maintenance or social housing desirable
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident managing high volumes of documentation
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to work independently in a busy office environment
