🚛 Fleet Project Manager

Telematics Rollout & Procurement

12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract, Full Time

📍 National role – Hybrid working with weekly travel to sites
🏢 Main office: Finsbury Park (Northern base)
📌 Key locations: Manchester, Liverpool, London, South Wales, Havant
🚗 Travel: Weekly site travel (approx. once per week)

🔷 The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Fleet Project Manager to lead a nationwide telematics rollout across a fleet of 1,700 vehicles.

This is a hands‑on delivery role, responsible for orchestrating the transition to a new telematics and camera supplier — managing installations, coordinating locations and stakeholders, and embedding the foundations for a driver behaviour improvement programme.

The rollout is already underway (several hundred vehicles completed, with ~500 by month end), so you’ll step into a live, high‑profile programme with clear momentum and visibility.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

🚀 Telematics Rollout (Primary Focus)

  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a national telematics and camera changeover programme
  • Coordinate install schedules across multiple depots and regions, minimising vehicle downtime
  • Act as the central point between sites, managers, drivers, and installation partners
  • Own planning, communications, and logistics to ensure a smooth and consistent rollout
  • Transition from hardware installation into software utilisation and insight generation
  • Support the launch of driver behaviour monitoring and coaching initiatives

🔄 Change, Communication & Engagement

  • Develop and deliver clear, practical rollout communications for managers and drivers
  • Engage frontline teams to ensure understanding, buy‑in, and adoption
  • Work closely with Fleet, Operations, HSE, IT, HR and suppliers to remove blockers
  • Support policy updates relating to telematics usage and driver safety

📊 Data, Safety & Benefits Realisation

  • Ensure accurate capture and use of telematics data post‑installation
  • Support improvements in driver safety, fuel usage, idling, and compliance
  • Track progress against rollout milestones, benefits, and KPIs
  • Provide updates to senior stakeholders on delivery and outcomes

✅ About You

Experience & Background

  • Proven experience in project management within time‑bound, operational environments
  • Fleet management and telematics experience is essential
  • Understanding of driver behaviour monitoring and fleet safety programmes
  • Comfortable managing national, multi‑site rollouts with multiple stakeholders

Skills & Strengths

  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills
  • Confident working with depot managers, drivers, suppliers, and senior leaders
  • Pragmatic, organised, and delivery‑focused
  • Able to balance structure with pace in a live operational environment

Qualifications

  • Formal project management qualifications are beneficial but experience is key
