The Role

WPS are seeking an experienced Mobile Engineer to join our team supporting the Hampshire Blue Light contract, covering Southampton and surrounding areas.

This is a mobile role delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across critical service environments including emergency service buildings. The successful engineer will play a key role in ensuring sites remain compliant, safe and operational at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults efficiently
  • Working on lighting systems, small power, emergency lighting and general electrical services
  • Completing compliance checks and statutory testing where required
  • Supporting minor multi-skilled / fabric tasks as needed
  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with health & safety, statutory and contract requirements
  • Accurately completing job reports via PDA / CAFM system
  • Representing WPS professionally while working in client‑facing, high‑security environments

About You

  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) – essential
  • Proven experience in a mobile building services or FM environment
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in Blue Light / critical environments
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting a wider team

Desirable

  • 2391 or equivalent testing & inspection qualification
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience
