Wates Property Services (WPS) is seeking a skilled and proactive Resident Engineer to join our team on-site at the exciting Twycross Zoo redevelopment project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-profile, sustainability-focused initiative that will enhance visitor experience and support wildlife conservation.

🛠️ Role Overview:

As the Resident Engineer, you’ll be the technical lead on-site, ensuring that all engineering works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You’ll act as the key liaison between contractors, consultants, and the WPS project team, helping to drive progress and resolve issues efficiently.

📋 Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily engineering activities and ensure alignment with project specifications.
• Monitor site progress and report on milestones, risks, and technical challenges.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on installations and materials.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of works.
• Maintain accurate site records and contribute to project reporting.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and environmental standards.

👤 What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a site-based engineering role, ideally within construction or property services.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, infrastructure, and M&E services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) and CSCS card.
