The Vacancy
About the Role:
Wates Property Services is seeking a skilled and proactive Resident Engineer to join our on-site team at the prestigious Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-profile retail and commercial environment, supporting our client JLL in delivering exceptional facilities management services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site
- Ensure all building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems, are operating efficiently
- Respond promptly to service requests and breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and visitors
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers as required
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and site procedures
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar engineering or maintenance role, ideally within a commercial or retail environment
- Relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider facilities team
