The Vacancy
Wates Group have a new opportunity for a Senior Development Manager to join our Residential business unit covering Wales, Bristol and South West.
Wates Residential is a developer contractor, we invest, develop, build, and sell quality affordable homes through contracting and partnerships with Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and public bodies such as Homes England.
The role of Senior Development Manager will have a crucial role in managing both the financial and commercial aspects of a project or portfolio, acting as a key contributor to the relationship with joint venture partners, while also collaborating with teams in operations, finance, sales, and commercial.
As a Senior Development Manager, you will:
- Be responsible for a single project with multiple phasing or a selection of single projects in a portfolio.
- Grow the Wales region into a successful developer contractor partner and contribute to the learnings and changes that the Regional Development Director and Regional Managing Director may wish to implement accordingly. Actively maintain and develop a positive relationship with the joint venture partner at peer level and be a senior contributor to the relationship on the project or portfolio.
- Collaborate with peer group in Operations, Finance, Design, Sales, Commercial and other functions to form, implement and deliver the Project Business plan.
- Work collaboratively with public sector stakeholders and engage local communities.
- Ensure that all required Wates development gateway governance is in place and is followed for the project or portfolio. Be responsible that external project governance (e.g., JV governance) is adhered to and followed.
