As Partnerships Director, Craig has over 20 years’ experience working within the housing development sector.

This includes working for a number of large housing associations as well as an affordable housing consultancy and a local authority development company. His broad range of skills provides a balance of commerciality and social awareness.

Craig’s roles in the development sector have varied from acquisition to construction, most recently working with a high profile for profit registered provider. As a leader in the Wates Partnerships team, Craig is dedicated to delivering new homes of the highest quality by establishing long term relationships to create development opportunities. He is in a unique position to bring together expertise from across the Group and invest in land to bring forward schemes.

Craig has substantial experience of establishing joint ventures with developers and is a firm believer in the power of collaboration with each party playing to its strengths to achieve more together.

No joint venture is the same however and recognising this is an essential part of his philosophy. The approach of sharing risk and reward gives partners the confidence to work with Wates on a range of schemes, from joint ventures to fixed price packages.

With a background in architecture, Craig has a genuine commitment to creating homes that are well designed and achieving quality design through careful consideration of what adds value to the person living in the home, and what contribution the scheme makes to the public realm.
