Bonnie is a registered architect and has worked in the construction industry for 20 years leading design, project management and delivery in architectural practices, for developers and currently at Wates.  In that time, she has founded and grown a new architectural practice, designed and developed new build healthcare facilities and hospitals in the UK, including UCLH’s Proton Beam Therapy facility.

As Healthcare Design Director at Wates, Bonnie’s key focus is collaboration with customers, design consultants, specialists and supply chain to develop and deliver solutions that address the four key NHS challenges – net zero carbon, MMC and standardisation, smart digital technologies and social value.

She will build on the research she led, in conjunction with Wates’ Education team, and a multidisciplinary team, to develop NZCiO solutions for new build schools in less than six months.  These solutions are now being implemented in four of our new build school projects across England.  Bonnie established Decarbonising Health Estates Partnership (DHEP) with the aim to develop realistic implementable solutions to contribute towards NHS’ net zero carbon ambitions with a focus on retained estates and their built environment.
