CarbonCentric

Carbon. Managed.

Get in touch

CarbonCentric is a construction-focused carbon management platform that enables the live management of upfront embodied carbon throughout project delivery, beginning from RIBA Stage 3

The platform captures material and quantity information directly from the supply chain through the Main Contractor as part of normal design, procurement and construction activities. This data is then monitored against agreed project baselines and Employer’s Requirements, providing a practical and structured approach to carbon management throughout the project lifecycle.

Supported by the Mainer Associates technical Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) team, CarbonCentric transforms embodied carbon from a retrospective reporting exercise into an active project delivery parameter.

CarbonCentric provides project teams with clear visibility of embodied carbon performance throughout design development, procurement and construction phases

By collecting live supply chain data, the platform enables carbon impacts to be monitored as decisions are made, helping identify opportunities to reduce emissions before materials are procured and construction begins. This proactive approach supports demonstrable reductions in upfront embodied carbon and reduces the risk of carbon targets being missed.

The platform tracks performance against project baselines and Employer’s Requirements while highlighting material specification changes that may affect carbon outcomes. An auditable record is maintained through to Practical Completion, providing transparency and confidence in reported results.

Features including live dashboard reporting, an interactive bubble map for A4 transport emissions and automated integrations with EC3 and ICE databases help teams access accurate carbon information quickly and efficiently. This supports informed decision-making while reducing the resource burden associated with traditional carbon reporting processes.

In simple terms, CarbonCentric enables embodied carbon to be managed in the same way as cost, programme and quality. It helps project teams make better decisions, demonstrate compliance and deliver lower-carbon construction outcomes.
