Your focus will be on leadership, value creation, and delivering best-in-class building services.Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the engineering workforce delivering hard M&E services, compliance, and Operating Framework (OF) delivery. Support the planning and delivery of extra works and M&E/fabric-related projects. Monitor and manage M&E programme alignment with the Wates Residential construction schedule. Organise and lead M&E progress meetings; liaise with operational site teams and external stakeholders. Lead mobilisation of new buildings across a dynamic property portfolio, including due diligence, risk assessments, and dilapidation surveys. Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently applied across the region.We are looking for an experienced and driven professional with proven experience managing MEP projects valued at £15m or more. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate technical teams. Expertise in building services compliance and health & safety regulations. This national role will have overall responsibility for communications – internal and external – and marketing, for Wates’ construction division, which includes the company’s construction and fit out businesses (Wates Construction, Wates Smartspace and Wates Fit Out). Operating across the UK with public and private sector partners, the construction business works in a number of sectors, including custodial, education, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and blue light, while the fit out businesses work for a huge range of customers, from banks and retailers to commercial offices and public sector bodies. With more than 80 live sites at any one time, an annual turnover of more than £1bn and about 1,000 employees, this division forms a significant part of the wider Wates Group. As a member of the Board, the role holder will support and advise its Executive Managing Director and will have overall responsibility for employee communications, media relations, PR, crisis and issue management, digital and social media, in-person and virtual event management and marketing to position for work winning. The role holder will utilise data driven insights and both internal and external feedback to drive activity and interventions in support of improving customer and employee experience. ABOUT THE ROLEAs our Head of Communications & Marketing, you will: Lead employee communications within the Construction division, including support for internal change programmes. Advise and support the Executive Managing Director and his Board to create compelling communications that build employee engagement and boost employee net promoter scores. Oversee media relations, social media and public relations activities for the Construction businesses, as well as developing communications that build and maintain a strong reputation with local and central government. Work closely with business development to craft marketing strategies, campaigns, events and awards to boost brand awareness and support work winning for national sectors. Manage third-party agencies and track performance to ensure return on investment. Act as the functional lead for the communications and marketing team within the Construction businesses and represent the division on the functional leadership team for the Wates Group. Resident Liaison Officer

Here at Wates we have an opportunity for a Resident Liaison Officer to join our WPS team on a FIXED TERM CONTRACT until the end of the year. You will be working with one of our existing social housing providers covering the South Derbyshire area working closely with the team to help deliver planned works.Works to include kitchens, bathrooms, roofing replacements and electrical works.Given the nature of the role we require you to have a driving license as your time will be spent on site and the offices in the South Derby area. Key Accountabilities will include: Acting as the main point of contact for residents, prioritising their needs and addressing concerns throughout the site works. The role focuses on fostering a safe, secure, and positive living environment while working closely with site staff to minimise disruptions. Clear, proactive communication and meticulous planning will ensure scheduled access to residents’ homes, building trust and delivering a seamless, customer-centric experience during the works. Set up, undertake and manage the Tenant/Customer/Resident Liaison Service across multiple sites. Attend regular client representative and tenant meetings to ensure highest level of customer service is provided at all times. Manage the Tenant’s Complaints procedures as a point of escalation. Maintain and update the on-site Database to reflect on-going works. Organise and host regular surgeries to address residents’ queries, concerns, and feedback. Maintain a structured complaints procedure and handle disputes and damage claims promptly and fairly.Ideally you will be an experienced RLO with a proven track record of successfully managing the workload across planned maintenance programmes however other working fields as a RLO will be considered.
