Graduate Trainee Programme

For all roles, we require you to have achieved, or be on track to achieve a 2:2 Second Honours degree or equivalent. You don’t need previous experience; however, a small number of roles do require you to have a built environment qualification, or RICS accredited degree. This specific requirement will be detailed in the job details. Please note that some roles do require you to possess a full driving licence on commencement of the Programme, to enable you to travel to site as part of your role.

Our Graduate Trainee Programme is a minimum of two years in duration and will give you on the job experience and the technical knowledge to succeed. You will be supported by an experienced mentor and line manager, alongside the Early Careers team dedicated to supporting you throughout your journey with us.  You will receive a structured development plan tailored to you, providing you with an industry recognised qualification, clear career pathway and development opportunities.

For those of you joining us without a built environment or RICS accredited degree, you’ll start by working toward a Level 4 qualification in either Building Services, Site Supervisor or Quantity Surveying to provide you with a good base knowledge of our industry. You’ll then have the opportunity to continue on your journey to Chartership with either the CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building), CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) or RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) depending on your role. If you already have a built environment or RICS accredited degree, then upon joining you’ll have the opportunity to work towards Chartership.

SES are currently looking for a Head of Health & Safety to join their Leadership team.ABOUT THE ROLEReporting to the Executive Managing Director, this role is to lead, direct, and support the Health and safety function across the SES Business Unit. The role acts as a strategic business partner, facilitating effective two-way communication with business boards and providing crucial Health and Safety insights during strategic business discussions.As the Head of Health & Safety, some of the key responsibilities will include: Analyse business Health and Safety data to develop integrated HSE strategies, lead root cause analysis investigations and change programmes across the Business Unit. Develop and deploy a communications plan for rapid information sharing and strategic support, including a suite of H&S metrics and performance targets. Provide motivation, development, and support to the H&S team, partnering with business boards to ensure alignment with objectives and strategies. Offer innovative H&S thought leadership, influence supply chain partners, and regularly engage in site visits to maintain current knowledge of H&S practices.We are for someone with extensive senior Health and Safety leadership experience in an industrial or construction environment. The ideal candidate will have a high-level knowledge of all relevant construction SHE legislation and hold qualifications such as a NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ level 4, and CMIOSH or equivalent. They must possess excellent report writing skills, a deep understanding of motivation and behavioural change, and the ability to influence at all levels within the business. Exceptional coaching skills, innovative thinking, and high resilience are also crucial for this role.Additionally, the candidate should be adept at leading and developing a team of H&S professionals, capable of analysing data, and presenting effectively to senior boards and forums. You will be covering the North London area, your main office will be Walton On Thames working on one of our social housing contracts, delivering reactive maintenance to our residents.Key Accountabilities will include: Undertaking repair/renewal works Advising Supervisor in a timely manner where other trades are required Working solely on certain tasks Working in partnership with other operatives to complete certain tasks Completing daily work sheets detailing work undertaken and materials used after each job undertaken Working in a timely and productive manner to complete programme tasksYou must have a full UK driving licence.To be successful in the role you will be an excellent communicator with the ability to problem solve, multi task, work to tight deadlines, have high standard of workmanship, productivity levels and ability to provide excellent customer service at all times is essential.
