Southern Construction Framework

SCF - Shaping Public Construction

SCF

The Southern Construction Framework, SCF, is the third generation framework in the South of England. This new framework is a joint venture between Devon County Council, Hampshire County Council, and Haringey Council.  The SCF framework allows public bodies from London, the South East and South West to procure construction projects worth over £1m with pre-checked and verified companies.

Working with the SCF, Wates Group has achieved the following in addition to being on time and budget:

  • Average 42 CCS Score
  • 99% of waste diverted from landfill
  • 346 hours donated to support careers events
  • 40 candidates supported through our employability programme
  • £358,212 spent with social enterprises

See some recent examples of our work below.

Community Impact

At Wates Group, all of our projects put community at the forefront of operations, and through our award winning Reshaping Tomorrow set of initiatives we deliver community investment, social value and education opportunities.

Wates’ own initiatives centre on providing local training, employment and investment, contributing to local charitable and social enterprises and undertaking outreach projects with local education institutions.

BIM

At Wates, we use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to generate, share and manage information collaboratively with our customers and supply chain.

Through the creation of digital models, we are able to validate and coordinate design information, improve procurement, reduce waste and maximise delivery efficiency to provide cost and time benefits for our clients. Working toward industry best practice, Wates have already orchestrated the completion of the Ministry of Justice’s BIM best practice guidelines, in conjunction with other partners.

Design and Build

As expert design and construction integrators, we have dedicated teams offering a fully coordinated pre-construction service enabling us to facilitate the design vision of your build.

At Wates we understand and embrace the value of your design, ensuring the transition into construction via procurement, manufacture and fabrication is as seamless as possible. Our approach of engaging early with  design allows us to influence design solutions when they will create the best value.
