Wates Living Space invites subcontractors to join supply chain as it targets Midlands and East of England expansion

Leading social housing maintenance provider, Wates Living Space is giving Midlands and East of England suppliers and sub-contractors the opportunity to join its local supply chain network as it looks to expand its presence in the two regions.

Local businesses are invited to attend a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event, which will be hosted by Wates at the Belton Woods Hotel, Belton, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG32 2LN on Monday 18th September from 9am until 1.30pm. To register to attend, please contact Paul Boulton by email (paul.boulton@wates.co.uk) or telephone (07710 847 426).

Opportunities are open to small and medium sized sub-contractors across a range of trades including plumbing, electrical works, joinery, painting, flooring, tiling, scaffolding as well as window and door suppliers and installers. Wates is also encouraging social enterprises to attend the event, having made a company wide pledge to spend £20m with the sector by 2020.

Attendees will be given the chance to meet the teams at Wates and Constructionline, a provider of procurement and supply chain management services, and to register interest and tender for new housing repairs contracts.

It is a critical priority for our business that we engage local supply chain partners, the benefit of which can be seen in the local employment and training opportunities that it generates.

Appointing local businesses in the Midlands and East of England will ultimately ensure that the money invested in these regions remains here and that the local economic impact of our work brings a lasting legacy to the community.”

David Morgan, Managing Director, Wates Living Space

Wates’ presence in the Midlands currently includes repairs and maintenance contracts with Birmingham City Council and Northampton Borough Council, while the business’ East of England roster includes Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association.
