Wates Construction in Leeds has brought 2018 to a close with the move to its new office at Paradigm in Thorpe Park, marking the launch of a major drive to grow the business’ project portfolio in Yorkshire and the North East 2019.
The move follows the exchange of contracts for a ten-year lease arrangement with Scarborough International Properties in the summer.
Wates now occupies 10,275 sq ft of space across the building’s entire first floor. A team of 45 will occupy the new space, which boasts a capacity for 70 to accommodate future business growth.
Relocating from their previous premises at Leeds Valley Park, Wates is now poised to commence a strategic drive to win new projects in its core markets. These include commercial, high rise residential and public sector developments, including education, blue light and leisure.
Paul Dodsworth, Regional Managing Director of Wates Construction North, commented:
“2018 has been a fantastic year for Wates, with our highlights including the start of construction on the latest phase of MEPC’s Wellington Place and the handover of two fantastic schools projects, Copley Primary and Moorside Community Primary on behalf of Calderdale Council, to name just a few.
“It is a really exciting time for us as we take up occupancy of our new office at Thorpe Park, which gives us a great base to build upon our exceptional work across the region as we move into the New Year. Space Invaders interior design team were given a brief to create a contemporary but comfortable office, where the team can thrive. The result is a dynamic office space, complete with hot-desking facilities, training rooms and break out spaces, that is future-proofed for expansion.”
Wates Construction is currently on site at Leeds City College’ new Quarry Hill Campus, the new mental health hospital in York on behalf of Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. The business is also the sole contractor on site at MEPC’s flagship Wellington Place in Leeds.
