Wates Construction bolsters Southern Home Counties team with trio of appointments

Wates Construction has significantly strengthened its leadership team in the Southern Home Counties with a trio of senior appointments.

Jason Wooldridge has been promoted to Operations Director with Kevin Scott also assuming this role, having formerly held the same position for Wates Construction London. In addition, Sarah Beard joins the company as Business Development Manager.

Sarah, who previously held the same role for Newbury based Francis Construction, has been tasked with developing and managing relationships with Wates’ customers and consultants in line with the region’s wider work winning strategy. Sarah’s career in the industry began 15 years ago as a result of a chance conversation with a director at Mansell Construction, where she was working as a cleaner in addition to her day job as a secretary. She has since assumed increasingly senior positions with companies including Balfour Beatty and Brymor Construction.

Jason Wooldrige has been appointed as Operations Director following a 22 career with Wates that began as a trainee site manager. Previously, Jason has worked on projects including the University of Southampton’s Marine and Maritime Institute. Jason’s new role will involve overseeing all activity on the South Coast as well as the build programme of luxury care homes at Signature Wandsworth.

Jason’s counterpart as Operations Director for the northern half of the region will be Kevin Scott, who previously had the same role for London. Kevin has been with Wates since 1999, and was part of the London team that oversaw projects including the redevelopment of the Royal College of Surgeons’ historic building in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. In his new role, Kevin will be responsible for schemes including the £32m Braywick Leisure Centre in Maidenhead.

Between them, Jason and Kevin boast over 40 years at Wates – not only are they exceptionally well placed to lead our operations across the region, their long service exemplifies the family ethos that is so pivotal to our company’s success. Sarah joins us after gaining a wealth of experience across a variety of roles in her career to date, making her an incredibly valuable addition to our team.

This trio of appointments is excellent news for our region, and will help us deliver a continually improving service on existing contracts while improving our offer for potential new clients.”
