Triple award nomination recognises outstanding year for SES Engineering Services

Leading national engineering specialist, SES Engineering Services has been shortlisted for three prestigious Construction News Specialists Awards, recognising a year of outstanding work and growth for the business.

The company has been nominated for three awards: MEP Specialist of the Year; Health, Safety and Wellbeing Excellence; and also Project of the Year for its innovative M&E work at the Queensferry Crossing – the biggest infrastructure project in Scottish history.

The 2018 Construction News Specialist Awards are the only national awards that recognise the best specialist contractors from across the UK. All finalists will attend face-to-face judging from a panel of more than 60 judges, made up from the UK’s largest construction firms and the leaders of the country’s major projects, including Canary Wharf Contractors, Skanska UK, Lendlease and Costain.

SES Engineering Services – the UK’s first M&E specialist to achieve BRE BIM Level 2 accreditation – was nominated for setting the standard for MEP, not only in digital engineering but in the outstanding delivery of projects of global importance, sustainability and health and safety.

SES’ work at the Queensferry Crossing – its very first bridge infrastructure project, saw it provide MEP systems on the £1.35bn replacement road bridge over the Firth of Forth, Scotland’s largest infrastructure investment in a generation, and the longest three tower cable-stayed bridge in the world, commissioned by Transport Scotland.

SES’ ongoing investment in BIM and prefabrication, including its specialist offsite manufacturing facility – Prism, has put it in prime position to acquire this level of leading-edge M&E projects.

We’re incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for not only one, but three prestigious awards this year.

Following the implementation of a three-year strategy, this has been a hugely exciting time of growth and expansion for the business and I’m delighted that the teams’ hard work has been recognised.

The Queensferry Crossing project was a rare opportunity to be involved in building a major new infrastructure project of international significance. It was the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our ground-breaking offsite and digital engineering capabilities that sets us apart.”
